Brief Introduction of CNC Machining

CNC means Computer Numerical Control, while CNC Machining refers to using computers to control machines in the process of manufacturing. Tools that can be controlled for CNC machining include lathes, mills, routers and grinders.

The surface of CNC machines looks like a normal PC, but the computer's unique software and control console sets it apart in CNC machining.
Machine tools function through numerical control under CNC Machining. The computer program is customized for a specific object that the machines are programmed with CNC machining language which is called G-code. In this way, all kinds of features like feed rate, coordination, location and speeds are controlled, even the exact positioning and velocity. CNC machining is widely used in manufacturing both metal and plastic parts. Fro example, 3D Irregular Tubes and Profiles Cutting machines which provide 3D space cutting solutions, according to users’ needs can cut rectangular tube, square tube, pipe, H profile, angle bar, T-bar and plate/strip and other irregular shaped tubes with the help of CNC machining.

Under CNC machining, a CAD drawing is created (either 2D or 3D) at first, and then a CNC machine understandable code is created. Followed by the loading of the program, and finally an operator tests the program to ensure its well-function. This trial run is called "cutting air" and it is an important step because any mistake with speed and tool position could result in a scraped part or a damaged machine.

There are many advantages to using CNC Machining. The process is more precise compared with manual machining. Also the process can be repeated in exactly the same manner over and over again. CNC machining can produce complex shapes because of its precision, while manual machining cannot, thus CNC Machining is used in the production of many complex three-dimensional shapes. Because of above qualities of CNC Machining, that is used in jobs with high level of precision needs or repetitive-tasks needs.
